Troubleshooting¶
On this page
First stop: Hub ▸ Client ▸ Setup and Hub ▸ Admin ▸ Health Check — most issues below have checks there, but manual title/platform prerequisites are also needed. Follow feature setup; a green check does not verify an entire integration.
| Symptom | Cause → fix |
|---|---|
Everything fails / TitleId errors |
No Title ID — Hub ▸ Client ▸ Advanced ▸ environment. |
The type or namespace 'PlayFab' could not be found |
PlayFab SDK not installed — see Getting Started §2. |
PlayFabHub.Auth (or any accessor) is null |
Feature disabled in the roster, or Initialize() not called yet. |
| "Not logged in" errors | Register/log in first; new-title anonymous creation requires the policy in authentication. |
| Shop sample: catalog empty | Economy v2 catalog has no published items — Game Manager ▸ Economy ▸ Catalog (V2). |
Purchase fails InsufficientFunds |
Provision test currency through trusted title administration in the correct economy generation and collection. The Hub does not supply an arbitrary runtime grant. |
| Leaderboard write refused with a CloudScript message | By design: writeAuthority = CloudScript. Route the score through a handler, or set ClientDirect for prototyping (+ title setting). |
ClientDirect score posting denied |
Enable and save Allow client to post player statistics (AllowClientToPostPlayerStatistics) under Settings > API Features for this title, only if client writes are intended. |
| Profile fields rejected | Allow only the required fields under Settings > Client Profile Options and match ProfileConstraints. |
| Receipt accepted but v2 inventory unchanged | Receipt helpers fulfill the primary legacy v1 catalog, not Economy v2. See IAP setup. |
| CloudScript function missing | Deploy the matching handler to the live revision, or register the Azure function when using that backend. |
| Matchmaking queue rejects ticket | Check exact queue name, player count and required attributes; the convenience method sends no custom attribute payload. |
| Push registration fails | Verify a real FCM/APNS token, OS permission, matching app/channel credentials and login. Unity Mobile Notifications alone does not provide Android FCM tokens. |
| 429 / throttling messages | Reads and explicitly idempotent operations retry transient failures; other writes do not replay automatically. Reduce call frequency; see retry policy. |
| Hub window slow | Use ↻ Re-run checks sparingly — results are cached; if a third-party panel is slow, report it. |
| Live Health-Check rows say "Unknown" | No admin secret key — set PLAYFAB_DEV_SECRET or the .secret file (editor-only; never ships). |
Still stuck? Every error surfaced by the package carries the PlayFab error code
and message (HubError), and network.verboseLogging traces each call with its
retry decisions.
